PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a region desired to observe, from an optimal visual point and in a visual line direction without complicated operation. SOLUTION: An image processor is provided with: a means for recognizing a bone area including bone regions comprising several bone components extracted from a medical image, in a bone component unit; a means for selecting the bone region to be displayed; a means for determining the bone components corresponding to the selected bone region; a means for determining a visual point from and a visual line direction in which the selected bone region is observed; a means for generating a volume rendering image for displaying a bone area from the visual point and in the visual line direction on the basis of the bone area of the medical image recognized in the bone component unit, the determined visual point and visual line direction; and a means for performing control so as to display the generated volume rendering image.
