PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove beat noise well in an imaging apparatus comprising image sensors such as CCD sensors by enhancing the detection precision of beat noise. SOLUTION: The beat noise detection region is arranged such that one or a plurality of regions are specified. For example, beat noise is detected in a horizontal OB region when the vertical OB range is limited, and the detected image data is placed once in the storage region. Then, the image data is read from the storage region and the beat noise is removed using the detected beat noise data. When the horizontal OB region is small, the beat noise is detected in the vertical OB region, and since the detected region is located in an upper part of the image, the beat noise in the object region (lower part of the image) is removed using the detected beat noise data.
