[Also in Division E2] Apparatus for the assembly of lenses in spectacle frames by gluing comprises a base 1 fixed to the upper end of a post 2, the base having attached thereto uprights 3 adapted for setting and securing a spectacle frame, and a slider 6 mounted in a slide on the base and carrying adjustable means for holding a lens 15 and adapted to present the lens into contact with the frame by moving the slider towards the uprights 3. The slider 6 carries a vertical threaded rod 7 on which is screwed a cylindrical piece 9 which carries a suction cup 12 having a shank 13 which is freely rotatable in the bore 11 and capable of being raised or lowered on the rod 7. Each upright 3 carries a radial supporting peg 17 and a rocking lever 22 co-operating with the peg 17 towards which it is resiliently impelled. The thrust exerted on the lever by the spring 26 may be adjusted by screwing or unscrewing the cap 25 on the upright 3. After assembly of the work, the parts of the apparatus are adjusted prior to glue being spread on the mating surfaces of the lens and spectacle frame. |
