PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently generate response transactions to output them. SOLUTION: An input part 11 receives data transmitted on an IEEE 1394 serial bus 10, and a separator 31 divides packets transmitted from the input part 11 into synchronous packets and asynchronous packets. Then, the separator 31 outputs the synchronous packets to an IRF 13 and asynchronous packets to a request transaction processing part 32. If a request transaction which is specified to a transaction layer is a specified one, the request transaction processing part 32 generates a response transaction to output it to the IEEE 1394 serial bus 10.
