The chuck comprises a body (2), fixed on the machine motor shaft, in which several jaws (9) are mounted and slide in bores (8), converging to the front, each jaw having an outwards turned threaded part (10). A skirt (25) rotated on the body has an interior wall which engages a nut (12) meshing with the jaws external threaded part. In the body zone covered by the nut are peripheral teeth (30) and the nut carries locking means (35) which engage the teeth in the chuck clamped position.
