The invention relates to a method for producing a rotation-compensated image sequence enabling the simplified reconstruction of the translation of a camera by means of the real-time rotation compensation of the images that are sequentially recorded by an electronic camera randomly displaced in a scene and provided with a rotation sensor, said images being produced by co-ordinating colour and/or brightness values of the pixels of a pixel field of the camera, indexed by rectangular co-ordinates. The inventive method comprises the following steps: a spherical objective (fish eye) is used; calibrating matrices for the spherical object are determined; the rotation matrices describing the relative rotation of the camera determined from the measuring data of the rotation sensor are calculated; the co-ordination between the pixel co-ordinates of an image point in successive images is calculated from the calibrating matrices and the rotation matrices; and the pixel co-ordinates are calculated according to the calculated co-ordination, with compensation of the camera rotation. |
