PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure the shape or the like of a moving measuring object with a simple constitution in reference to the original point fixed to a predetermined position. SOLUTION: This optical measuring system arranges a compound eye measuring section 125 having optical measuring sections 121 and 123 whose relative positional relation is known at a predetermined fixed position, and has an optical measuring instrument 131 that has an optical measuring section 115 arranged at a predetermined position with respect to a light source 129 for a gauge mark forming three gauge marks 118-120 on a reflecting section 132 and gauge marks 118-120 and is integrally disposed in a hand section 114 of an arm type articulated robot 100. This optical measuring system measures the coordinates of the gauge marks 118-120 by setting a predetermined fixed position as the original point with the compound eye measuring section 125, measures the shape or the like of the measuring object 130 in reference to the predetermined position with the measuring section 115, and measures the shape or the like of the measuring object 130 in reference to the original point based on these measured values and set values.
