<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver capable of highly accurately compensating the waveform degradation of signal light in a nonlinear optical transmission line and an optical transmission system provided with the receiver. <P>SOLUTION: The receiver for receiving wavelength multiplexed signal light includes: a phase synchronized multiwavelength light source (10) for outputting multimode local oscillation light having a plurality of wavelengths in which optical frequencies are phase synchronized with each other; a multiplexer (20) for multiplexing and branching received wavelength division multiplexed signal light and the multimode local oscillation light; demultiplexing filters (30, 32) for separating two output light from the multiplexer for respective wavelengths of respective channels; a differential receiver group for converting the output light from the demultiplexing filters (30, 32) to electric signals respectively and outputting difference signals between the electric signals converted from the light of the same wavelength; and a composite waveform generation means for generating the composite waveform of the entire channels in the received wavelength division multiplexed signal light using the difference signals. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
