PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid ejector and a fluid ejection method whereby formation of an image is carried out at a high speed to a medium. SOLUTION: The fluid ejector is equipped with a first head located at a position for ejecting a fluid to the medium, a second head located at a position for performing maintenance, and a moving mechanism which moves the second head in place of the first head to the position for ejecting the fluid to the medium.
