PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bait log (lure) which is used for angling squids, which is less apt to snag, can easily avoid snagging, is superior in straight advancing performance when sunk, and can reduce the resistance of water pressure, when it is jutted out. SOLUTION: This bait log (lure), having a bait log body portion 1 formed into a shape similar to that of a small fish and a sinker 3, attached to the head portion side of a berry portion, has a line eye 2 attached to the upper side of the head portion, forming the first opening behind the line eye, forming the second openings 8 on both the rear sides of the head portion, and forming passages 9 for communicating the first opening 7 with the second openings 8. The line eye 2 can be moved forward or backward, because of its being attached so that the neck of the line eye 2 can be swung forward or backward. When the bait log is cast, the bait log sinks obliquely in a head portion-lowered attitude. When the bait log sinks, the line eye is placed at the back position, and water flows into the passages 9 from the first opening. When an angler juts out the bait log, the bait log is first pulled backward. Then, the line eye is then placed at the front position, and the bait log is lifted in a head portion-lifted attitude.
