<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hole cutter capable of safely, surely and easily installing a new hole cup in the greens and back-filling an existing green hole 9' without requiring skill. <P>SOLUTION: The hole cutter is provided with a plurality of cutting edges 2 at the lower edge of a steel cylinder 1; a turning shaft 4 at an upper end plate 3 of the cylinder 1 on a common center axis c; and one grounding plate 6 sharing the center axis c, in the cylinder 1 at the lower ends of a plurality of rods 5 liftably and slidably inserted in the upper end plate 3. The upper ends of the rod 5 are connected to a step board 7 slidably fitted to the turning shaft 4, and the cylinder 1, the upper end plate 3, the rods 5 and the step board 7 are formed to be turnable around the center axis c by turning the turning shaft 4.
