PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powder having high ability for selectively adsorbing unsaturated fatty acids contained in sebum and used for compounding with cosmetics. SOLUTION: This powder used for compounding with cosmetics and having high ability for selectively adsorbing unsaturated fatty acids comprises a plurality of base layers comprising a metal double hydroxide of formula: Mg1-xAlx(OH)2[(x) is 0.2 to 0.33], and a laminar metal double hydroxide intercalated in intermediate layers between the adjacent base layers and composed from magnesium acetate or magnesium acrylate and interlaminar water.
