PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver and a program capable of preventing out of synchronization recognization by a user as much as possible in reproducing multimedia data even when changing a communication environment while receiving the multimedia data by streaming.

SOLUTION: The receiver has a reference time initial setting means for initially setting the reception time A of a packet received first as reference time (d), and a reproduction time determination means for calculating the reproduction time D based on a transmission time interval TD of the packet from the reference time (d). The receiver has a reference time re-setting means for re-setting the reception time A of the packet received first as the reference time (d) if the transmission delay is not more than an applicable threshold when transmission delay calculated from the transmission time and reception time of the packet increases or decreases continuously.
