PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective technology by which information on the consumption of a chemical can be easily detected to optimize the chemical treatment of water to be treated with the chemical in a water treatment system performing the chemical treatment. SOLUTION: In the water treatment system 100, a disinfectant 122 in a chemical cylinder 121 elutes into water to be treated, in a disinfection tank 120 to disinfect the water to be treated, and the magnetism of a magnet whose accommodated position varies according to the residual amount of the disinfectant 122 set in the chemical cylinder 121 is detected by a magnetic sensor 140 arranged outside the chemical cylinder 121, thereby detecting information on consumption of the disinfectant 122.
