The method involves stereoscopically representing two different menus or menu options for a viewer at different distances based on a reference plane, where the menus are represented in partially transparent manner. A submenu assigned to the menu option is opened in a surface, after the section of the menu option, where the surface is turned around an axis until the surface is represented in a plane parallel to the reference plane. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle with an instrument cluster for representing information.
