PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rate detector capable of precisely detecting angular velocity around a detection axis for improving productivity even if the direction of the detection axis of a rate sensor is not in a required direction, when mounting the rate sensor to a holder. SOLUTION: The rate detector 10 includes: the rate sensor 13 detecting the rate of the detection axis X; a detection axis inclination correction section 14; and a rate calculation section 15. The detection axis inclination correction section 14 multiplies an actually measured detection value by a rate sensor inclination vector, namely a rate sensor inclination obtained by calculating the inclination of the rate sensor 13 arranged on the detection axis X using a required determinantα, thereby obtaining a correction valueα3.
