In a networked control system comprising an external network 1 coupled to the internet 2 and an internal network coupled to a control system 4, filter 5 only allows passage of data of a stored, predetermined type. Computer 6 sends a data block comprising a sync flag, a parameter identity (eg. power, time, flow rate) and a variable value (eg. 1.1 GW, 2 hours, 2 million litres per second) to the filter, where a comparator (9, fig. 2) compares each ident with a range of valid identifications stored in RAM 7. Matching data blocks are sent on to the internal network 3 while non-matching ID's generate an error signal. |
