A portable terminal having common light-emitting element is provided to reduce the amount of consumed current, the manufacturing cost and size. A liquid crystal display unit(210) which is positioned on an upper side of a backlight part and keypad(270) are arranged on a straight line. The backlight part reflects the light to the liquid crystal display unit. A light guide plate(220) is arranged at a lower side of the liquid crystal display unit to reflect the light incident through a side to the liquid crystal display unit. A reflection plate(230) reflects the light progressing toward the lower part and side of the light guide plate to the upper side, so that the light emitted from a light-emitting element(280) can be efficiently focused on the liquid crystal display unit. A prism sheet(240) diffuses the light passing through the light guide plate, and then controls the progressive direction of the diffused light.
