Method for determination of change of volume of material in process of deformation at static elongation or compression includes operations of making sample of material that is to be investigated, determination of its initial volume V, deformation of sample till obtaining given deformed state and determination of change &Dgr;V of volume of material of sample. One performs standard testing of sample of material at uniaxial elongation or compression, by results of tests one plots diagram of dependence of coefficient of cross deformation on deformation by which one determines coefficient of cross deformation that corresponds to given deformed state.
