METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ALLOCATING RESOURCE IN A COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A method for allocating resources in a communication system and an apparatus therefor are provided to increase the use efficiency of limited available frequency resources by sharing resources between a macro cell and a micro cell, thereby expanding the system capacity. A macro cell region(200) comprises two micro cell domains(210,220). The first base station 1(202) and the first to third terminals(204-208) are positioned in the macro cell region. The second base station(212) and the fourth terminal(216) are positioned in the first micro cell domain(210). The third base station(222), the fifth terminal(224) and sixth terminal(226) are positioned in the second micro cell domain(220). The first macro cell domain assigns the first frequency which is the dedicated resource for providing the downlink and uplink between the first to third terminals and the first base station. Each micro cell domain provides the downlink and uplink between the second base station and the fourth terminal. Each micro cell domain assigns the second frequency for providing the downlink and uplink between the third base station and the fifth to sixth terminals.
