The mudguard has a rigid body (14) for protecting a body shell of a vehicle and surrounding a wheel of the vehicle, where the body is inserted on the body shell and the mudguard is made of plastic material. A rigid protection tongue (20) is distinct from the body, and moves with respect to the body between an insertion position for inserting the mudguard on the body and a mounting position for protecting the body, by a hinge. The hinge is formed by a web (22) of reduced thickness connecting the body and the tongue, where the tongue is made of polypropylene or composite containing felt.
