The present invention provides an image forming apparatus having a sheet feeder capable of reliably feeding a sheet without using a sensor. A rotation number detector detects the number of rotation of a fan. A determining portion determines whether the number of rotations of the fan detected by the rotation number detector is in a predetermined range. If the determining portion determines that the number of rotations of the fan is in the predetermined range, a sucking/conveying belt is driven.
