In a content delivery method in a P2P network (20), a node for managing contents allows the adjacent downstream node to manage the divided contents of the capacity suited to the situation of the downstream node (e.g. rate of a line to which a node is connected) first. The node for managing the contents holds partial information of the divided contents managed by the own node and position information indicating the position in which the entity of the contents is present as management information. Subsequently, when a content transfer request comes to the node for managing the contents, the node for managing the contents accesses the content hold node according to the position information that it holds, downloads the divided contents of the capacity indicated by the partial information to the own node, and uploads them to the node having requested the content transfer.
