<p>A tensioning device for a fastening strap comprises a base (41) and a lever (42) ; a spindle (6) pivotally connecting the lever (42) to the base (41) and adapted to permit the strap to be wound therearound, the spindle (6) having a first spindle component (61) and a second spindle component (62) which together define therebetween a gap (60) adapted for passage of a portion of the strap; and at least one ratchet wheel (5) disposed around the spindle (6) for rotating in concert with the spindle (6) and driven by the lever (42) to rotate the spindle (6), wherein the gap (60) has a variable width that can be narrowed to cause the first and second spindle components (61,62) to clamp the strap.</p> |
