The invention relates to a method for wireless error diagnosis and/or error correction and/or maintenance and/or preparation of the maintenance for a motor vehicle in which an inspection apparatus checks whether the vehicle has a technical fault and/or whether vehicle maintenance needs to be performed and/or whether the driver is requesting assistance, e.g. breakdown assistance by pushing a button. To improve known breakdown services, it is proposed that a state ascertainment apparatus ascertain what electrical and/or electronic components or what hardware and/or possibly what % associated software versions are available in the specific vehicle and/or what errors have occurred during operation of the vehicle and have been stored in the vehicle in the form of error data and/or what vehicle maintenance needs to be performed and what relevant maintenance data have been stored in the vehicle. In line with the invention, only the driver is able to enable setup of a telecommunication link between a service facility external to the vehicle and a service interface inside the vehicle following an appropriate offer to the driver. The telecommunication link is used to transmit identification data for the relevant vehicle and/or the hardware information ascertained by the state ascertainment apparatus and/or possibly information about associated software versions to the service facility external to the vehicle. ® KIPO & WIPO 2009 |
