An over-heating preventing circuit used in a voltage regulator is presented to assure solidity and stability of reaction by stopping the operation of a system, by flowing a higher current to an input stage, by controlling a current generated in a current mirror. An over-heating preventing circuit used in a voltage regulator includes a bias circuit(10), a current generation part(20), an over-heating sensing part(30) and an output part(40). The bias circuit supplies a driving voltage by receiving a bias voltage driving the voltage regulator. The current generation part generates a constant current by receiving the driving voltage from the bias circuit. The over-heating sensing part receives the constant current by being connected to the current generation part. The over-heating sensing part operates at a temperature higher than a specific temperature by sensing temperature variation. The output part is connected to the current generation part. The output part outputs an output current generated by a first current mirror and an over-heating preventing signal determined by a driving voltage inputted from the bias circuit.
