A semiconductor memory device and operation method thereof is provided to perform a stabilization of a manufacture by efficiently implementing apparatus manufacture and design. A semiconductor memory device(1) and operation method thereof comprises the followings: a memory array part(3) formed as information memory area; an interface part(2) performing an interface between an external memory control unit and the memory array part, and sealed within a package; a plurality of interface modules corresponding to a plurality of memory types; a clock generator producing a processing clock; and a mode interpreter outputting a mode signal. One among a plurality of interface modules performs an access processing of read or recording about the memory array part.
