The system has a locking unit (11) connecting a base structure (1) to an upper end of a connecting rod (7) in a fixed and separable manner. The rod has a lower end articulated along an axle (C) on a floor, where the axle is remote from an axle (D) on an end of a leg e.g. front leg (5). The structure is pivotingly connected to the rod along an axle (B) remote from an axle (A) such that the leg, the structure, the rod and the floor form a deformable quadrilateral to retract a seat i.e. middle row seat, in a storage container (92) by its deformation when the structure is connected to the rod.
