FIELD: engines and pumps. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to turbo pump units and can be used in space and aircraft engineering and other industrial branches taking use of centrifugal pumps to pump over cryogenic liquids, for example, liquefied natural gas. The turbo pump assembly incorporates a housing and rotor with a screw, impeller and hydraulic turbine. The aforesaid assembly rotor runs in plain bearings lubed by fluid pumped over and incorporates thrust devices representing primary hydraulic thrust bearing and starting thrust bearing sustaining axial forces. The screw has a screen to make an axial-vortex stage with a flow section greater at the inlet that at the outlet. The first thrust bearing is arranged between the said axial-vortex stage and the impeller, the impeller being furnished with orifices to communicate the hydraulic thrust bearing drain space with the impeller inlet. To add to operation stability at smaller capacities, a circular chamber is arranged in the housing right ahead the impeller communicating, via heat exchanger, with the pump inlet. Cooled fluid comes into the pump inlet via manifold and nozzles directed along the flow. ^ EFFECT: higher stability, improved cavitation properties. ^ 2 cl, 1 dwg |
