The invention relates to a system and a method for radio-based information interchange between track-side devices (6) and vehicles (1, 2) moving along a track section, in particular of a railway system, having a radio network which is formed from radio cells and via which the track-side devices (6) which are fixed on the track section exchange information with vehicle-side devices (4a) which are arranged in the vehicles (1, 2), with the radio range of a device (6) in each case defining the radio cell of this device (6), and with the radio cells of in each case two devices (6) which are arranged immediately alongside one another overlapping one another, and with the radio cells which are arranged one behind the other being switched as they are passed through, in that, in the overlap area (A, B) of two track-side devices (6), a radio link to the track-side device (6) of the immediately subsequent radio cell is additionally set up by the vehicle-side device (4a). In order to ensure that the changeover from one radio cell to the next takes place without any interruption and as far as possible without any restrictions, in particular even when the bandwidth margins are small, it is proposed that the location (18, 19, 22) for changing the radio cell is defined on the basis of local transmission qualities determined when this track section is passed through, in particular by vehicles (1, 2) travelling in front. ® KIPO & WIPO 2009 |
