A pharmaceutical composition is provided to prevent and treat the metabolic disease such as hyperlipidemia or fatty liver by using an extract of Lysimachiae foenum-graeci Herba. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating the metabolic disease contains an extract of Lysimachiae foenum-graeci Herba as an effective ingredient. Preferably the composition is in form of a capsule, a tablet, a granule, a powder or a drink.
