PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor capable of increasing the image processing speed and is capable of improving the image quality. SOLUTION: A division section 90 breaks down an input multi-valued image into blocks consisting of 2×2 pixels. Each of four pixels in one block is processed by an error diffusion processing section 3 using four error diffusion processing circuits. A density distribution processing section 1 weights the densities of four pixels in one block and distributes the densities to the four error diffusion processing circuits prior to the error diffusion processing. Accordingly, the multi-valued image can be processed in parallel at a high speed by a plurality of independent error diffusion processing circuits, can allow dots to be viewed finely, by distributing the densities of the multi-valued image, and the image quality of the output image can be improved.
