A convenient and flexible paper remote controller system for registering and controlling apparatuses with a simple operation. An input device of an apparatus using a dot pattern comprises a reading section for reading a dot pattern formed on the surface of a medium according to a predetermined rule, a converting section for analyzing the read dot pattern on the basis of image information on the dot pattern and converting the dot pattern into a dot code corresponding to the dot pattern, an infrared code table where one or more infrared codes associated with the dot code are registered, and a control section for applying the infrared codes read from the infrared code table from an infrared radiation emitting section to a controlled device. |
