PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic relay capable of being downsized and saved in weight. SOLUTION: The electromagnetic relay is provided with a plunger shaft 51 moving forward and backward by excitation and demagnetization of a coil, a movable piece 57 supported by the plunger shaft 51, a pair of terminals 73, 73 for fixed contacts opened and closed by movement of the movable piece 57, and a cover 60 wherein a storage section 65 for storing the movable piece 57 is formed. The terminal 73 for a fixed contact is formed in a pole shape having a pulling-out protection section 74, a seat section 75, and a fastening section 76 on an outer periphery. A pair of retention sections 67 forming a valley at a position facing the movable piece 57 are projected in the cover 60 by separating respective retention sections 67, insertion holes 68 inserted by the pair of terminals 73 for fixed contacts are respectively formed on the retention sections 67, and the terminals 73 for fixed contacts are respectively inserted into the pair of insertion holes.
