PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive unit for a metering and dispensing device simple, low in cost and high in safety. SOLUTION: The metering and dispensing device 100 includes a receiving device 110 for a metering-dispensing unit 120, and the drive unit 130. The drive unit includes a driving shaft 135. The metering-dispensing unit has a feed hole 124 and a blocking member 122 that is arranged in the feed hole and can be coupled to the driving shaft. A blocking position and a maximum open position of opening cross-sectional area of the feed hole can vary according to the linear operation of the blocking member along a center longitudinal axis in the feed hole and the shape of the blocking member. The drive unit performs linear operation toward the metering-dispensing unit to couple the driving shaft to the blocking member and to open the feed hole. The blocking member is held to the blocking position by a blocking spring until coupling to the driving shaft is completed. The driving shaft can be limited in operation in an opposite direction to the advancing direction of the drive unit to prevent early opening of the feed hole during a coupling process.
