A GAS-DRIVEN PUMPING DEVICE AND A METHOD FOR DOWNHOLE PUMPING OF A LIQUID IN A WELL

A gas-driven pumping device (2) and a method for downhole pumping of a liquid (34) from at least one liquid source (28) in a well (4) and onto at least one receiving region (16) for the liquid (34). The pumping device (2) comprises a pressure manipulation chamber (18) having a lower chamber portion (38) and an upper chamber portion (40), wherein the pressure manipulation chamber (18) is connected in a flow- communicating manner to: - a liquid supply channel (42) connecting the pressure manipulation chamber' (18) to the liquid source (28) a liquid discharge channel (44) connecting the lower chamber portion (38) to the liquid receiving region (16) - a gas supply channel (46) connecting the. pressure manipulation chamber (18) to a gas source (54) with pressurized manipulation gas (56); - a gas discharge channel (48) leading out of the upper chamber portion (40) of the pressure manipulation chamber (18). By alternately lowering and increasing the gas pressure (Pchamber), liquid (34) is pumped from the liquid source (28) and onwards to the receiving region (16) via the pressure manipulation chamber, (18).
