<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric storage device capable of supplying a large amount of power in a short period of time and carrying out power supply for a long period of time without enlarging the size of the electric storage device by composing the electric storage device by combining a capacitor cell with large internal resistance with a capacitor cell with small internal resistance, and to provide an image forming apparatus with the electric storage device and a discharging control method in the electric storage device. <P>SOLUTION: The electric storage device 20 is the electric storage device comprising a plurality of types of capacitor cells 3.
