PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber-reinforced flame retardant composition with biomass material as a major ingredient, which has high flame retardancy in addition to excellent physical characteristics such as durability and mechanical strength. SOLUTION: The fiber-reinforced flame retardant composition contains (A) a thermoplastic polyester resin, (B) a fiber mainly composed of cellulose, and (C) a first flame retardant, with (A):(B)=95:5 to 5:95. The thermoplastic polyester resin (A) includes biomass material as a part of the raw material, the first flame retardant (C) is a phosphate (melamine polyphosphate) having a 2,4,6-triamino-1,3,5-triazine skeleton represented by the formula (1): (C<SB>3</SB>H<SB>6</SB>N<SB>6</SB>)<SB>n</SB>-H<SB>n+2</SB>P<SB>n</SB>O<SB>3n+1</SB>, and the content of the first flame retardant (C) is 1 to 20 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the content of the fiber (B) mainly composed of cellulose.
