ECO-FRIENDLY FLAMEPROOF METHOD WITH NON-FLUORIDE TI COMPOUNDS FOR WOOL AND PRODUCTS THEREOF

An environment-friendly method of giving a burn resistance to wool is provided to prevent environmental contamination due to the fluorine which is not processed from being generated in advance because the fluorine compound is not used. A method of giving a burn resistance to wool comprises a step of treating the wool using non-fluorinated system titanium compound and carboxylic acid in an acidic bath. The non-fluorinated system titanium compound is a titanium oxychloride less than 10 % owf. The carboxylic acid is one of citric acid, tartaric acid and oxalic acid.
