PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum electrolytic capacitor which is excellent in jointing strength and connection reliability between a lead wire for drawing out and a positive electrode foil or negative electrode foil. SOLUTION: The aluminum electrolytic capacitor comprises a bottomed cylindrical metal case which houses, along with an electrolyte for driving, a capacitor element in which a positive electrode foil and a negative electrode foil jointed to a lead wire 20 for drawing out are wound with a separator in between, and a sealing body which seals an open end of the metal case. The lead wire 20 for drawing out jointed to the positive electrode foil/negative electrode foil 27 comprises: a flat part 22 which is a flat part obtained by processing the other end side of an aluminum wire rod part 21, with an external connection wire 23 jointed to its one end; and a plurality of protruding parts 25 provided on the flat part 22. The positive electrode foil/negative electrode foil 27 is made to penetrate the protruding part 25 provided on the flat part 22, so that the top part of the protruding part 25 is crushed for jointing.
