PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment capable of searching a remote control unit without extending new components and circuits. SOLUTION: The electronic equipment with a remote control function includes: a body 3 starting operating by operating a power switch 32; and the remote control unit 9 for transmitting a remote control signal to the body 3. The body 3 has a locator transmission section 33 for transmitting a locator signal to the remote control unit. The remote control unit 9 has a locator reception section 94 for receiving the locator signal sent from the body 3, and a voice generation section 97 operated according to the reception of the locator signal. A control section 31 of the body 3 determines whether the operation of the power switch 32 is first operation for turning on power or second operation over a term longer than that of the first operation.
