PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an abnormal indication from being displayed when an input defect of a video signal occurs in a display device which inputs the video signal of an imaging means and displays a video image thereon. SOLUTION: A display device 1 comprises a display panel 2 capable of displaying thereon a video image being photographed by an imaging means 14; a control means 3 which inputs a video signal Si representing the video image and displays a video image 25 on the liquid crystal panel 2 on the basis of the video signal Si; and a determination means 4 for determining whether or not an input defect of the video signal Si is occurring with respect to the control means 3. When the determination means 4 determinates that the input defect is occurring, the control means 3 causes the display panel 2 to display thereon a defective indication image 26 representing the input defect, in place of the video image 25.
