The device has a cup-shaped filter housing connectable with a vehicle flange (4) by a bayonet joint. The joint includes a form closure element on the housing, and another form closure element (7) on the flange. The two elements are brought in an axial form-fit locked position by axial sliding and twisting about a housing longitudinal axis. The elements are brought in a form-fit locked position additionally in a peripheral direction. A locking stage (9) with a projection is brought into the one of the element (7), and another element lies in the locked position in the stage.
