This application relates to the role of c-Jun transcription factor and AP-1 transduction pathway in the pathogenesis of lung cancer, and discloses therapeutic agents for the treatment of lung cancer that inhibit the activity or expression of c-Jun. The agents may affect the signaling pathway between c-Jun and mdr1. cyclinD1, bcl-2. ICAM-1 or ER a . The present application also concerns a method of measuring the proliferative activity of lung cancer cells comprising testing the levels of c-Jun and ER a , and for measuring chemotherapy resistance of lung cancer cells, comprising testing the levels of c-Jun, mdr1 and bcl-2.
