An automatic firearm using a magazine with three rows of cartridges which gives an increase in its capacity, has a breech mechanism with a sliding bolt (1) with a projection on its underside which operates a cam device (2) at the rear of a slider arm (6) tensioned by a spring (14). This slider arm (6) actuates a pivot arm arrangement (8, 9) which operates with the spring feed system inside the magazine (12) when division plates have cut-outs (15) to clear the end of the horizontally extending portion (9) of the pivot arm. Two rows of cartridges from the magazine are blocked and unblocked by this horizontal portion. The cartridges are extracted by recoil of the bolt (1) and the cocking lever (18) is released by a ramp on the bolt (1). The firing pin has three fingers.
