Cosmetic compsns. contain 0.1-20 wt % of modified protein aminolysates produced by reacting natural proteins with di- and/or polyamines contg. 2-4C atoms, reacting the resulting protein aminolysates with epoxy cpds. acylating the products and, finally, hydroxyalkylating by reaction with a 2-4C alkylene oxide opt. substd. with an OH gp. These cpds. can be used is shampoos, hair rinses, hair fixatives, foam baths, skin creams, etc. Good conditioning and reviving effect is attained. These cpd. show very good compatibility with skin and mucous membranes and, microcover, improve the skin compatibility of alkylbenzensulphonates and paraffin-sulphonates.
