The secateurs comprise a stem fixed to two pistons, a ring forming two chambers supplied with compressed air by means of a bore, through the stem. Since there are two pistons, air under only fairly low pressure is required. When air is admitted through the inlet the pistons are forced down, drawing with them the stem and so closing the movable blade against the fixed blade. Since during the cutting operation the stem is under tension, there can be no possibility of the latter buckling. A distributor valve can cause the piston to move in any direction. An extension arm can be fitted to the secateurs.
|
