Calender provided with upper and lower rollers between whicha re arranged vertically adjustable intermediate rollers has the rollers mounted in bearings carried by guides supported by pedestals and the guides are provided with bearing supporting slides which are displaceable by fluid cylinder. Device is for calendering sensitive webs and rollers are selectively adjustable wrt each other to provide unfirom linear pressure between roller nips.
