Preferably the time at austenitizing temperature does not exceed 25 minutes, particularly # 1 minute, and the temperature is above 900‹C, while after austenitizing the steel may be normalized or quenched and tempered. Alternatively after cooling it may be reheated to a temperature between Ac 1 and Ac 3 and then cool. Before carrying out the heat treatment the weld should be allowed to cool at least to 600‹C, or until 60% microstructural transformation has occurred. |
