1320704 Photo-composing machines LAMSON PARAGON Ltd and DIRK STROBBE PVBA 2 July 1971 [10 July 1970] 33692/70 Heading G2A A photo-composing machine of the kind in which a latent image of an original form 1 is produced on light-sensitive material 7, and which is provided with a projector 6 for projecting light patterns identical with part of the form 1 either on to the corresponding part of the form Fig.2, (not shown) or on to a screen 4 so as to overlie the appropriate part of the image of the form 1 also projected on to the screen, there is provided a grid which is utilized to control the position of the projector 6, a counter counting the grid lines and stopping projector movement when the alignment is correct. A mirror 5 is then moved and the material 7 exposed. The grid Figs. 3A and 3B (not shown) has line spacings of 1/6 inch in one direction and 1/10 inch in a perpendicular direction The projector 6 carries a line mechanism (29) Fig.4, (not shown) masking shields (30-33) being provided to determine length and width of the line to be projected. Only one line mechanism 29 is shown, but usually two are provided, one for generating transverse lines and the other for generating horizontal lines. |
